In 1973 I began shooting film using a Bolex 280 Macrozoom Super 8mm camera. We had to edit the film after it was developed at the camera store using a splicing machine and tapes. We would then send it back to the camera store to be sound striped and then record the sound over the film using overdubs.

To say the least, times have changed. I now shoot on 2 HD Panasonic camcorders with wireless 48K audio recording and edit on a computer system that allows me to do anything you ever saw in a movie.

The quality and convenience of digital video is making it easier to create professional looking images that are ready for broadcast or film transfer for presentation in a theater. I have the pleasure of shooting for both TV and films now and truly enjoy what I do.

I am also the production manager of the Skokie Theatre Music Foundation in the newly renovated Skokie Theatre at 7924 N. Lincoln. I handle sound, lighting, recording, website updates, ticket programming and reports, email marketing and general equipment and building maintenance. This is a beautiful venue to see a show in and recently we received a rating of "One of the top 10 theatres in the world" for acoustics from Meyer Sound. They are a leading authority on sound design.

With all the things I do, there is still time to handle the smaller projects like transferring old home movies to DVD, putting together photo slideshows with music, editing sports and drama videos for scholarship apps., shooting local plays and presentations.

When it comes to video, I am known as "the expert" even though I constantly learn new things about this incredible technology that is still emerging as I write.

I bought a home in Skokie in 1998 and love it here. I plan on staying here to watch this community grow and become strong, just like I have.
