Weekend Skokie Swift Service To Stay

Due to a dramatic increase in ridership, Skokie Swift weekend service will remain. The ridership statistics for July of this year were the greatest recorded since the Skokie Swift reopened in 1991. Mayor Van Dusen said the increase also justifies the need for more stations along the Skokie Swift line. A 2009 groundbreaking of the downtown station is planned.
