Skokie Mourns the Loss of Local Artist Elliott Balter

Elliott Balter attended Blairritz University in France and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He was a Raymond Travelling Fellow and received his MFA at the Illinois Institute of Technology. His sculpture "Swans" can be seen in the courtyard of the library. Other sculptures, including his Expanding the Brain series, are on display in Balter's Skokie Sculpture Garden on Ewing Avenue. Elliott Balter is survived by his son Shelley, and has left his marvelous sculptures for all of us to see.
