Downtown Developers Vie for Contracts

Skokie officials have narrowed down developers to three after receiving seven responses to initial requests for proposals to revitalize the downtown area. Mayor George Van Dusen's six-member advisory committee as well as IMODS (Independent Merchants of Downtown Skokie) made recommendations. The area slated for redevelopment includes village-owned parking lots bounded by Oakton Street, Lincoln Avenue, Brown Street and Floral Avenue. Randy Miles said "We're on the cusp of phenomenal things in Skokie." Courtesy of the Skokie Review, May 3, 2007
