Philosophy:
"At Skokie Montessori School we have a strong belief in the Maria Montessori Method of Education and Philosophy. Our mission is to provide a rich educational experience for children from three through six years old that nurtures love of learning, encourages intellectual curiosity, and fosters self-confidence in a safe and caring environment." The Skokie Montessori provides a classroom atmosphere that promotes social interactions, emotional development, physical coordination and cognitive preparation."
Curriculum:
The Skokie Montessori School's Kindergarten and Preschool programs provide a high-level curriculum towards academic excellence through hands-on concrete materials in the areas of practical life, sensorial, language, mathematics, science, geography, art, music and movement. Children have the opportunity and encouragement to develop an ability to work independently, based on their own initiatives, which builds concentration, order and self-discipline. The School is one which recognizes and respects the inherent value, dignity, talents and special needs of each child. The School provides your children a stimulating, yet safe environment that will enhance the interest in learning, and build a solid foundation of academic skills indispensable to future learning endeavors.
