Leonard Dubow Marks 50 Years with Kiwanis Club

Longtime Skokie resident, Leonard Dubow has been "one of the backbones" of the Kiwanis Club of Skokie Valley for the past 50 years. He "had no idea it would be a lifetime commitment" when he joined shortly after moving to Skokie. Every fall Dubow has been selling peanuts in the annual Kiwanis drive to raise funds for helping children. Although some of the older members have died out and it is a challenge to recruit younger members, Dubow's commitment remains strong. "I always felt I should serve the community as best I can," said Dubow. The Kiwanis Club of Skokie Valley meets from 12:15 to 1:30pm Thursdays at the Holiday Inn, 5800 W. Touhy Ave. Call Lisa Kudon, 847.329.0400 or email lkudon@firstbt.com for more information. Courtesy of the Skokie Review, February 21, 2008.
