Join Cub Scout Pack 243 in honoring one of America's Tuskegee Airmen
Submitted by skokienet on February 26, 2008 - 1:35pm.
Honoring the accomplishments and perpetuating the history of African-Americans who participated in air crew, ground crew, and operation support training in the Army Air Corps during World War II.
The Tuskegee Airmen were dedicated, determined young men who enlisted to become America’s first black military airmen, at a time when there were many people who thought that black men lacked intelligence, skill, courage, and patriotism. They came from every section of the country, with large numbers coming from New York City, Washington, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, and Detroit. Each one possessed a strong personal desire to serve the United States of America to the best of his ability.
Please join us as one of the officers of this division talks about his experience as a Tuskegee Airmen and shares his amazing part of history with us.
Donations appreciated. Proceeds to benefit the Tuskegee Airmen and Fairview South School.
TIME & PLACE: Fairview South School Auditorium,
